The Democrats Have Lost Their Minds

The phenomenon of the Democrats “loosing their collective minds” has been a slow, agonizing process but the day this loss of sanity began can be pinpointed.  Some will say it was the day the Republican Party took control of the Congress in 1994.  But it truth, it began on January 20, 1993—the day William Jefferson Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd president of the United States.   

Democrats were jubilant.  The leftists had control of all three branches of the government.  Their dreams were about to come true.  After eight years of Reagan and four years of Bush, thanks to Ross Perot and a mere 43% of the popular vote, the Democrats ruled supreme.  Little did the leftists know what disasters were ahead for their party.   

It didn’t take long for the scandals to begin.  What the Democratic Party didn’t realize at the time was that its leader had brought his lifestyle with him from Arkansas.  Bill Clinton had always gotten his way.  For years, no one dared tell Clinton that his behavior was unacceptable.  Bill Clinton just expected his subordinates to accept it and cover up the mess he left behind.  The Arkansas media didn’t dare ask Bill Clinton a tough question.  So, when Bill arrived in Washington, D.C., he must have thought his playground had just gotten larger.  He was wrong. 

As Americans got a better look at their new president, his far-left leanings made them nervous.  To counterbalance the extreme liberal ideas of Clinton, Americans decided to give the House and the Senate to the Republicans.  The joy of the Democrats was very short lived.  In fact, the Democratic Party was in shock.  How could this have happened?   

Every Democratic member of the House and Senate knew exactly why the power had been lost.  The reason for the crushing loss had a name and that name was Bill Clinton.  Just two years into his term, Bill Clinton had pressed the political self-destruct button.  From that moment on, Bill Clinton’s only thought was being re-elected.  He trampled on members of his own party and did whatever was necessary to get back in the good graces of the American people.   

Because of a mediocre but honorable Republican candidate in 1996 and the little general, Ross Perot once again, Clinton got his wish.  He was re-elected, but again, he got less than 50% of the popular vote.  Clinton didn’t care.  He had won.  There would be four more year of Bill Clinton in the White House—a house that he seemed to think was his birthright.  If Clinton gave a second thought to the fact that Republicans retained control of Congress, he didn’t show it. 

The slow but steady decline into political insanity picked up speed.  Democrats accomplished little over the next four years except defending the leader of their party and his shameful behavior and trying to cover up all of the lies.   Democrats are forced to defend Clinton and his behavior even now. 

Bill Clinton’s recent meltdown on national television just brought back all of the sins of neglect that the Clinton administration had committed.  Yet again, a Clinton was sucking all the air out of the room and the weekend news cycle. 

The victory of George W. Bush after a contentious election caused the Democratic insanity to accelerate.  Cries of a stolen election echo still, after six years with a presidential election in between.  It was the election of George Bush in 2000 that breathed life in the far-left branch of the Democratic Party and like a Frankenstein’s monster it has grown.   

Those old Democrats in the party, such as Joe Lieberman, have been devoured by the monster.  There is no room any longer for moderation or tolerance. Groups funded by anti-American billionaire George Soros sprang up like demons from the hydra’s teeth of legends old.  Moveon.org has grown in power within the party.  Any candidates who dare veer from the new party line as dictated to them by the Moveon.com crowd are excoriated and quickly destroyed.   Even the powerful in the Democratic Party fear this ever-growing segment within the party.  If the Soros branch of the party can’t win the old fashioned way, it will just buy the seats that it wants.   

The “old party” Democrats have every reason to fear these people.  Recently some of these venerable far-leftists took out a full page in USA Today to broadcast their “Day of Mass Resistance.” Such esteemed politicians as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) and some politically stunted people of Hollywood like Susan Sarandon, Ed Begley, Jr., and Jessica Lange want to tell Americans how terrible America is and, of course, it’s all George Bush’s fault.  Notables from academe such as plagiarist Ward Churchill have put their names front and center to be counted.  When not hugging dictators from Cuba and “thugs” from Venezuela, these powerful, wealthy, and influential left-wing-nuts want to tell the average, middle class American what he should think and who should be president.  

Out of fear of the ever-growing monster in their midst, Democrats now vote to give constitutional rights to foreign terrorists.  Andrew McCarthy of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies stated the leftist intentions quite well when he said that the terrorist sympathizer’s amendments would “require us to give Miranda warnings at the moment of battlefield capture of an al Qaeda terrorist.”  The far-left blogs attacked Mr. McCarthy like vultures attack a rotting carcass demanding that he have his law license revoked.  No one is allowed to contradict Moveon.org or DemocraticUnderground.com without paying a high price. 

On his recent visit to the United Nations, that noble and benevolent Islamic leader from Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, inquired if Michael Moore might be available to join him for breakfast.  Perhaps he wanted to discuss the pros and cons of nuking America and Israel with this outstanding liberal America-hater.   

Democrats whine incessantly about Donald Rumsfeld.  The disastrous liberal Wilson/Plame scheme didn’t give the leftists Cheney, Rove, or Bush as they had hoped, so they have moved on to plan B.  That plan was to put bitter ex-generals in front of a committee to expound on the failures of Rumsfeld and then try to hustle them out of the room when these same generals go on to say how important it is we stay in Iraq and finish the job. 

Democrats have accused our soldiers of being Nazis and of terrorizing women and children in the dead of night.  They have accused our fine troops of killing civilians in cold blood.  The loathing of our military by the “new Democrats” is very obvious.   

A speech was posted on the Internet accusing Bush of being a liar and accusing him of torturing captured terrorists.  The speaker proclaimed that al Qaeda is growing in strength and that America cannot win in Iraq.  No American should have to check to see if this speech was given by Howard Dean, head of the Democratic National Committee or from the second-in-command of al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.  It sounded as if al-Zawahiri had used the DNC daily talking points as notes for his diatribe against America.  Sometimes, it’s hard to tell the liberals speeches from the enemy’s speeches because they often sound similar. 

George Allen, a Republican presidential hopeful and senatorial candidate is one of the targets of the liberal diggers-of-filth. If Allen can be smeared enough, he is one threat that can be destroyed and the leftists will get two for the price of one.  They can gain a Senate seat and effectively destroy Allen’s chances for a run for the White House. 

The new Democrats support constitutional protection for foreign-born enemies, believe in the white-flag solution in Iraq, and use trash and burn political tactics.  These liberals have made attempts to destroy our ability to track and follow terrorists around the world and leak only the parts of top-secret documents that are advantageous to the Democrats.   

The “Progressives,” as Democrats prefer to be called these days, don’t even remotely resemble the Democrats of old.  To call this new party the Socialist Party wouldn’t be correct either because the real Socialist Party is at least honest about its intentions.  This new Democratic Party doesn’t know the meaning of the word honest.
