It continues to be life in the Twilight Zone at least for me. I realize that with the embrace of moral relativism and situational ethics the left lost touch with truth. Hence they also lost touch with reality at the same time. We have all seen the bumper sticker that reads, Liberalism is a mental disorder. Sadly it is all so true. The left has no idea of what truth is beyond its what they say it is. Remember the out cry from the left over Sarah Palin lying when she pointed out the death panels? Well the proof is out now. Confirmed by none other than the New York Slimes.
 
Leftist icon Paul Krugman says the so-called "death panels" established by President Obama's trillion-dollar nationalized health-care plan will end up saving "a lot of money" for the government. Gee Paulie I thought there was no such thing as death panels. Guess I and lots of others were wrong then. Paul let the cat out of the bag on ABC’s Roundtable. "People on the right, they're simultaneously screaming, 'They're going to send all the old people to death panels,' and 'It's not going to save any money,'" he said.
 
He said, "The advisory panel which has the ability to make more or less binding judgments on saying this particular expensive treatment actually doesn't do any good medically and so we are not going to pay for it." Another example of the morph from the non existent death panel to the new Advisory Panel. The effect is the same either way you name them. Some minor bureaucrat gets to have the power of life and death over you. Yet Sarah was lying, go figure. None other than the chosen one himself has stated, "Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."
 
And the left is alleged to be more caring and compassionate than the right. Except if you are on the right or in the way of leftist ideas that is. The truth of the matter is there is no compassion on the left. Its all just another club to beat conservatives with. Just as the left loves to parrot the slogan of Free Speech it is only leftist free speech they are talking about. One need only look at the "hate speech" prevented to see the leftist idea of free speech in action. The recent prevention of Ann Coulter speaking at a Canadian university is a prime example.
 
Another example of the perversion of the free speech idea is 3 cases that have attracted zero media attention. The Stolen Valor Act is less than 3 years old yet is in danger of being declared unconstitutional. Who is behind this? It is none other than the ACLU. Basically three dirt bags claimed to be combat heroes and were caught out when they couldn’t produce any discharge papers to back up their lies. The issue at stake is whether or not lies are protected speech if you can believe that! The position is backed up by the totally erroneous idea that false claims of military distinction do not diminish the honor bestowed or earned by those who committed real deeds of valor.
 
I wonder if these same dimwits who adhere to this addled notion would feel the same about false academic honors. I doubt it. People who claim false honor to deceive do so for personal gain. In addition they try to manipulate other people’s behavior through falsehood. Yet we have leftists trying to further erode the idea of truth by claiming lies are protected speech. Liberalism is a mental disease and this is part of the proof.
